Comodo Cloud Antivirus - v1.13.429196.569 Hotfix (RC)

Hi All,
We have made following CCAV RC version 569 available on Beta server:

http://91.209.196.83/ccav/installers/ccav_installer.exe
Size: 9.02 MB (9,460,632 bytes)
MD5: 650721603d56d36581f9bd6ae20c9552
SHA-1: bd6567e1c98a9d1a0977673c49453f4807b49f74

alternately you can also have following hosts entries:

91.209.196.83 download.comodo.com
91.209.196.83 www.download.comodo.com

and use manual updater option and update to this RC version.

Reason for hot-fix:
Current production version is not compatible with upcoming Redstone(RS) 3, due on 17th Oct, 2017, and currently supports highest build version till 16257 of Windows 10.
So if you run v564 or lower on latest RS3 build (e.g. 16299), you won’t find CCAV active, however upon every system re-start or if you try to launch CCAV, it will ask you to update to latest version.

Changes:
1.
It supports latest RS3 build v16299

It is fully compliant with latest Cloud Files Feature being introduced in RS3 release.

We will be making public release early next week.

We will appreciate if you could:

  • Try out this build on one of latest RS3 builds and check for stability and functionality.

Any feedback is highly appreciated.

We are also working on CCAV release coming in Oct, with some of requested features.
Stay tuned…

Thanks
-umesh

Dont have the insider RS3 build v16299.
However, it run fine on the latest W10 Public build.

Same here :-TU

Got BSOD failed Kernel Security Check. BSOD dump attached.

I too don’t run the insider builds.

For the upcoming October release, suggestions…
Unblock Applications like in CIS
Option to set file size limit to upload to Valkyrie
Option to disable automatic periodic rating scan
Password protection

Thanks, team will check.

Hi languy99,
It seems you have MalwareBytes installed as well and dump shows that BSOD is due to MalwareBytes :

Please see if you can re-produce that if it happens only when CCAV and MBAM installed together, although not recommended to have two AVs.

Thanks

I tried to install again and this time it didn’t BSOD.

Hi All,
We have released this version in production, you can update to latest via updater or wait for update notification.

Thanks for testing out.

It installed Nicely, thx

Updated on my mom’s PC, I un-check the Yandex offer in update window… After restart, Chrome opened with Yandex homepage ???
I checked on settings and it is AdTrustMedia homepage… Why? Chrome showed me a popup about “broken user profile”, I though CCAV broke the profile as well. Even I un-check the toolbar, homepage options but it got installed with update. :-TD
Please check the problem

Thanks,

Hi yigido,
May you please share version of Chrome you had?

Let us look into it.

Thanks
-umesh

That was the latest stable build of it on Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (updated)
Event happened 4-5 hours ago. FYI

Thanks umesh

Hi yigido,
1st thing there are no changes with respect to search in this release.
To verify, I installed v564 and updated to v569; yahoo check box de-selection was respected in both manual and auto-update cases, so don’t see any problem there.

Also, i didn’t see any problem with setting search in latest Google Chrome v61.0.3163.100

In case you can re-produce, we can have devs debug it further into your system.

Thanks
-umesh

I did manual update i.e check for update, everything fine here.

I was offered the same Yahoo stuffs, de-selected & no Yahoo stuffs installed.

Updated fine & custom settings, etc intact.

Only thing… I had deleted desktop icon & update recreated desktop icon.
Minor thing, would be good update doesn’t create desktop icon if user had deleted desktop icon.

Do you guys find software installation slow with CCAV installed, high disk usage during software installation, & disk usage take time to lower after software installation finished?

No problems with original install, or update here. Disk usage normal throughout
