We have released CCAV v1.8.407387.418 to fix following critical issue:
FIXES:
• In certain special cases invalid certificate could be considered valid in Win 8 and above.

You should receive update notification.

This is the only change made in this version.

We are working on a new and improved version of CCAV, planned by month end, that will have significant improvement with respect to Valkyrie integration with CCAV.

Additionally team is also working on a new GUI, planned in Feb-end, allowing multiple GUI themes.

Please keep your suggestions coming.

A user on malwaretips “Evjl’s Rain” tested CCAV against ransomware. CCAV blocked everything BUT petya bypassed CCAV.

Is by-pass here meant by shuting down the VM?
If petya didn’t encrypted any files I wouldn’t call it a by-pass (but still it would be nice if sandboxed apps couldn’t shut down your PC).

Its a by-pass…at the end of the video he showed & mentioned “petya successfully encrypted the MBR & system is not bootable”.

This has been identified and under QA.

We will have a release by this week-end and it will have this fix also.

This bug got into CCAV in v403 released on Dec 21, 2016 else all previous versions protected against Petya.

Hi guys, I see the recognizerCryptolocker.dll version in Viruscope is only 1.0.0.0 in CCAV latest, but at a much higher number in CFW for example, not the same?
