Comodo Cloud Antivirus 1.2.392126.236B is Released!!!

Melih, please, clarify something about valkyrie veridicts. The file veredicts are propense to change or are they permanent? If a file gets marked as trusted but later it turns out to be an malware, the valkyrie veredict can be changed without the need of sending the file to the cloud again?

Yes

There seems to be a lot of negativity in this thread, and I wanted to sum up my experience with CCAV so far.

  • it is light on system resources (I attached a screenshot, as someone wanted), no slowdowns
  • still, most of the applications start slower, but only on their first startup, later, they start up fast (I am on a SSD drive / Win10)
  • the scans are fairly slow / quick scan took around 30 mins / I did not try full scan yet
  • rating scan also took its time, but it was much faster the second time around
  • I would like to see a 64-bit version in the future
  • I will not bash the Valkyrie submissions, as fixes have been announced several time by now (analysed+trusted 3 from 67 by now, just as FYI)

I think Comodo is on a good path. I am mostly satisfied. The local scans should really be improved.
Thanks Comodo team.

The quoted part… Its something I just dont get. Why is ccav only x86?

It already is 64bit, otherwise it wouldn’t work in Windows 64bit. You only need 64bit drivers, not 64bit entire app. There are no performance benefits having entire app in 64bit.

I ran the detection tests from here and CCAV only detected the first file. 360 Total Security gets all but the ace format.

16 files analyzed here now. All trusted, all sensible judgements.

Possibly you may have missed this as it is not in the main interface

Settings ~ File rating ~ Trusted Applications ~ Add

It works - I have used it myself

Kind regards

Twitter/Facebook buttons on widget redirect to twitter/facebook main webs not to twitter/facebook comodo accounts.

Waiting for someone to say that detection is nothing compared with protection and that you are protected with the sandbox :a0

Re archives CCAV realtime scanner appears to respond mainly on extraction and execution. This is probably the consequence of keeping it light in impact on system usablity.

The manual batch scanner will pick up viruses archives if you untick the restriction to executables etc in AV settings

System runs ok and without slowdown today.

It could be an issue between your service and Comodo.
Maybe a Geo-location issue with Comodo at the moment.

Creating a separate topic to analyze Sheelpolins’s problem in CCAV help.

I hope that is OK

Please post answers to his issues on that topic

Many thanks

Mike

how about:
Allowing an unknown file to execute with unfettered access? Maybe you call that protection?

@Melih:

I dont get any result from the Valkyrie…

To be honest, most apps don’t really work in sandbox. And those that do are so limited you have to execute it outside for it to function properly. When you force user to wait for god knows how long and/or allowing it manually, that’s hardly a protection knowing most users will just allow it anyway. Just being realistic here.

Again the problem with the Internet connection

Stating your problem over and over isn’t going to fix it. I think comodo is aware of the problem and is working to fix it.

then a good behavior blocker take action
