Congratulations for the smart scan. Really improved the full one which takes hours/days to finish.
I know it scan less files or less thoroughly but, after all, I can finish a single scanning
But I still complain with the KillSwitch results.
Some very known files, that I’ve submitted to Comodo a lot of times, are still being detected as “unknown”. Why don’t you add an exclusion list then? Can’t you correct this?
Also, “hide safe processes” is not kept into the settings and need to be checked all the times ???
If its running from a fixed drive, this is possible. But if it is a portable drive, there are side effects for this. For example, the original drive may not have write access or out of space etc. In any case, this can be handled in a smarter way like if its possible use current folder drive. If not, use TEMP.
can the window be added when hovering over svchost.exe that shows what services that particular svchost is using. it had it in process hacker and in task manager if you right click on any svchost and click go to service(s) it shows the same thing and in process explorer if you right click on any svchost and go to properties and click the services tab it shows the same thing but killswitch 2 doesnt have any of these options.
hello community,
i am new to this. i tried comodo products and these are all awesome especially CIS and Dragon. Thanx for providing these solutions. :-TU
Now i tried CCE but when updating it shows error after an hour. i tried three times but not able to update it. i am on a slow connection and currently not using CIS.
:(So is there any way to download the updated database and then apply it to CCE ?
Plz. provide solution to it.
Thanx
also am i supposed to place cce in c:\program files\comodo folder for a successfull update? or i can place it anywhere as it is a portable program.
it should be able to update from anywhere since its portable
were you able to successfully update CIS?
CCE and CIS use the same signatures so you were able to successfully update CIS you can copy the signatures from C:\program files\COMODO\COMODO Internet Security\scanners
the signatures is the bases.cav file
copy that to the scanners folder in the CCE folder. run CCE and it should be updated or only have small incremental updates
Thanx for Reply,
I have a downloaded file named “BASE_END_USER_v10277.cav” For CIS. i copied it to the CCE\scanners and renamed the existing “bases.cav” as “bases.old” and “BASE_END_USER_v10277.cav” to “bases.cav”, in safe mode. then restarted pc in normal mode. but its showing the virus database version is 1.
found the solution
Actually CCE is saving its virus database file in "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Comodo\CCE\scanners" so if you place your old database in “CCE\scanners” and updated in "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Comodo\CCE\scanners" then it will show you the updated database version and if you will place your old database in "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Comodo\CCE\scanners" then will show old database version. and also if you first dalete the "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Comodo\CCE\scanners" and then place the updated database in “CCE\sacnners”. then start cce it will automatically copy Updates to "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Comodo\CCE\scanners".this all can be done in normal mode, no safe mode is required.
So what Really Matters is updates in "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Comodo\CCE\scanners" rather than “CCE\scanners”.
:-La and as a portable version i hope it will be fixed in stable version.(currently using beta 2.0.212902.151)
:-TU and i know it will be fixed bcuz it is from COMODO, the best solution in the world.
thanx.
If you look at e.g 09:50 you can see that some of processes are highlighted by light-red and some of them by bright-red, why?
a bug? Maybe they were terminated and it stuck.
I think it has to to with the confidence level, malware that matches a signature is dark-red, generic and heuristic detections are light-red because the confidence level on those detections is lower.
