Could you post the size of ‘Mail.cbu’ file?
If the file is not too big, could you upload it… so we can investigate the issue?
Thank you

- Your Operating System (and whether it’s 32bit/64bit); Win XP 32 SP3
- Other Backup & Security Software Installed; CIS 3.9, Avira AV
When trying to make pidgin IM backup, COMODO Backup stops responding (screenshot attached). Although , cb creates a backup file (i cant determine is it a full and correct backup right now ). I also cant attach a log file, because i cant find it (there is no such in cb directory).
P.S.
Nevertheless, thanks for Pidgin support) Hope all bugs will be ironed out for the release. Backup software is very important and must be stable, so good luck, team)

Hi.
It might be a GUI problem since the backup has finished with no errors(except the not responding problem).Try verifying the backup file created within the CBU (restore tab step 2).If the verify works OK the problem might be elsewhere.
Thank you for your feedback.
Hello,
#535 maybe you can also help us with a dump. The devs will help you catch it.

Sure, just tell me how i can catch it.
Emanuel
It is 359 MB. I can test with a smaller file if this will help.
John
That would be helpfull.
You can also try by eliminating files until backup file size will be smaller.
Compression would be helpfull too…
thank you

Thank you for your feedback.
I have just successfully restored a backup. Everything restored perfectly, but the interface issue happened again (this time with restoring window).

Hi
Are you using some kind of theme or enhancements for Windows?

Yes, i have UXTender patch installed (allows to install custom themes on XP). I’ ll check later if this bug also happens on my test machine (clean installed Win XP).

I cant reproduce a bug on my test machine, and i also cant reproduce it on patched machine with another backup type (tried “files & directories” instead of “Messenger” ).

Ok, I’ll see if one of the applications listed before can interfere with the system/comodo backup. If not, maybe the operating system has a problem. Can you tell me also what means “patched machine”? Thank you.

I mean patched with UXTender. I have noticed that this bug is not connected with themes at all, it only occurres when i drag mouse cursor over cbu icon in the task pane. I think this happens due to incompatibility with Visual Task Tips (http://www.visualtasktips.com/ ) shell extension. Attaching a screenshot.

Can you tell us if a restore for Entire Registry or for User settings is working? Thank you.
Entire registry backup is working well. After reboot, registry is restored.
John
No compression was used for reg backup.
