Hi! By “profile” I mean a specific backup task, with all the settings of that backup task.
ie
2. If I have a non-scheduled backup, how can I access it again without having to recreate the profile?
What I mean is, how can I re-run the exact same backup without having to recreate the backup profile/task from the beginning (as in CBU1).
3. Is it possible to enable/disable a profile like in CBU 1?
What I mean is, is it possible to enable/disable a specific backup task like in CBU 1. this way I can have them defined in CBU, and run them manually when I want to. Or I can disable certain backup tasks that I do not want to run for some reason. For example, if I take my laptop with me on vacation, I will not want it to try to backup to my backup server. But I will want to keep the same profile so that when I get home, I can just enable it again.
Sorry for the confusion. Hope that makes sense now.
Yes, you can create a specific task to run it whenever you want. Just create a scheduled task to run ‘Manually’ and you can run it with right click.
To enable/disable a scheduled task you can edit it and change the schedule setting from ‘daily’, ‘monthly’, etc to ‘manually’.
First off I’m running x64 Vista with no other software.
I found a couple of issues while trying to set up a backup to a ftp server (adrive.com in case it matters).
Issue # 1: When you pick the directory on the ftp server to back up to it comes up with a error message saying invalid path. I tried just a folder named “test” but it complained about that as well. It doesn’t seem to matter what directory you pick it just won’t let you pick a “valid” path.
Issue # 2: If you go to create a new folder on the ftp server it says “Please provide a password”. It still will create the folder though if you provide a “password”.
OS : Windows 2008 Server 64bit with UAC ON
Other software: none
I don’t know if it supposed to work on Server 2008, but i’m trying it and getting this error all the time when i try to schedule a job (see the picture).
