Had never noticed this before or at least not since the last version update. This boot was after an XP System Restore. I had installed a program but couldn’t completely remove it with all my normal methods so I just did a restore. After the installation of the program, I had checked its online help and for updates and had given Comodo the permissions. Do you think it had something to do with returning Comodo to its state prior to the installation, i.e. it was removing the permissions, or were there some updates? Thank You!
Greetings,
That’s just CPF checking for new updates, nothing to worry about.

OK, Thanks! Can’t believe I haven’t noticed that before.
When you restored, CFP’s rules and updates too I’d guess, were left as they were when the restore point was defined. So when CFP booted it found that there were updates it didn’t have, some of them had likely been already installed but deleted by System Restore so they were installed again. Maybe you hadn’t noticed the update animation before because the update is usually very fast, but this time there were many updates pending because of the restore so the process took longer.
