COMODO Antivirus for Mac 1.1.214829.106 Released!

Hi egemen, any news on the AV for Linux that was suppose to be out last week? I hope it is still coming.

I was postively surprised. Scan is quite fast. Load is not heavy as in Eset for Mac.

Unfortunately there is still official language support for most countries. Please fix it.

I set Polish lanugage and whole application was in Japanese or Korean. I switch to default English (US), but some descriptions are still in japenese/korean i.e. profiles at “Run Scan” or Scan Profiles etc.

I also would like to see virus defs for Windows and OSX like in Symantec products for Mac. The best solution is to an option in Scan Settings which defs to use (Mac OS X, Windows, both). I believe this will satisfy most users and we will not loose a scan performance if someone works just under OS X.

This is very useful because data migrate between Mac and PC environment. Let me explain.
I am not afraid that malware from Windows migrate to OSX or vice versa. But it is a good to have an option to scan location where windows software is placed (USB mobile HDD or USB pendrive). I can delete potentially dangerous files under OS X if my BootCamp location will be infected.

Hi,

Is there any link to find the virus definition updates for Comodo Antivirus MAC ??

A German user reported a similar behavior for the German language. He ended up with a French GUI. You have to select “Magyar - By Community” (the entry after German) if you want the German GUI. Maybe it’s the same for Polish!?

The descriptions for the profiles are created at install time and stay in the installation language if you change the settings sometimes later.

will the mail gateway that is in the Linux version make it to the mac version and will it be optional to install

Would be nice, I have an old PPC system here.

Any news on a new version of CAVM yet? I’m itching to replace iAntiVirus and try out CAVM, but I can’t afford to switch until it’s reasonable stable - ie not in beta.

I’m also unclear about whether CAVM checks for both Mac and Windows viruses, or only for Mac types?

Otherwise, all that I’ve been able to research on Comodo and CAVM looks good!

Just by way of encouragement, and not criticism, may I just say that it can be of great benefit to software developers to maintain a responsive attitude to comments made on their own forums? It hasn’t been that long since I posted (above) - just over a week - but in the normal course of events, that should be more than long enough for some sort of response to be made, even if it’s not possible to provide one that fully answers the questions that were asked.

I’m sure you know this and it may well be that the actual development work is keeping you all so busy that finding time to respond to forum posts cannot be a priority. I’m sure many of us are familiar with that scenario! Nevertheless, as I said, I write this as an encouragement to try to be a little more responsive here and show that Comodo recognises that users taking time to communicate with you can and does have a positive mutual benefit.

Since I recently first encountered Comodo’s products (through the matousec.com anti-virus reviews), I’ve been very impressed with the breadth of your organisation’s product range. My partner has also installed your backup and internet security products on her Windows 7 laptop, both of which look impressive. As I mentioned above, I’d also like to make use of your anti-virus product for my Macs, hence my query about the availability of a new version.

You are to be congratulated on producing some great products and I, and my partner, look forward to playing a small part in helping to make them even better!

I have the operating system MAC Yosemite, and the new install is not working on this interface. I agree with all the positive posts about CAV putting out a MAC version, as it is an invaluable tool but is there any word on release for a patch that works with Yosemite.

Anyone with feedback would be greatly appreciated…

The provided link to download COMODO Antivirus for Mac currently returns a 404 error.

Here is the link from the COMODO website:

I tested this from AK, NC and CO using Mac/Safari as well as Windows Firefox, Chrome, and IE 11 with the same results. I can ping the download.comodo.com server and download Windows as well as Linux versions. But the link to the Mac release image fails.

I contacted GeekBuddy support and here is what they said:
Ben: It is working because we gave it to several customers and they have no problem

Can anyone else get this to work? Or has COMODO withdrawn the Antivirus product offering for Mac but not updated the website?

Hi,

I am trying to download Comodo av for mac but when I click the link I get 404 not found.

When the issue is addressed the response may appear there.

I sent a pm to Melih and egemen about this and asked if they were also willing to comment on what Comodo’s plans are for CAVM.

What’s up from CAM?
I Can’t yet find any details about CAM, CAM’s malware database (base.cav), latest version and changelogs!!

Is comodo going to keep supporting MAC? I have a MAC also and I am using Sophos protection for it right now but maybe a new CAVM that incorporates the website blocker maybe and what about the possibility of zeroday technologies?

+1 also have MAC devices but using the same other product currently.

Any new news on development or update? I get these emails in my inbox of Comodo blog posts but is there plans for an update anytime soon?
