Comodo and HP Scanner

Hi guys,

I have a HP 7780 all-in-one scanner. I also have Adobe Photoshop CS2 too. I had both applications installed prior to the installation of Comodo version 3.0.25.378. Now whenever I try to scan anything my Adobe Photoshop “locks up” on me. The normal process is as follows:

  1. Open Adobe Photoshop
  2. Click on “File”
  3. Click on “Import”
  4. Click on “Officejet Pro 7700 TWAIN”

At this point the splash screen for the Officejet Pro 770 TWAIN comes up and goes away. It is at this point when it is supposed to open the HP scanner/driver software. But it does not open. Then Adobe Photoshop CS2 is locked up.

Also, if I try to use “HP Photosmart Essential” software, and try to scan it does the exact same thing as well-- opens HP scanner/driver software splash screen, and then locks up.

Any help/insights would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Statustray

did you allow the defense + pop ups you got for the software you may have inadvertently blocked part of the application software. open up comodo click on defense + advanced computer security policy look for your applications software and make trusted and see if that helps. also look at defense + events by opening comodo common task and click on defense + events. i hope this help.

Try putting the firewall and D+ in training mode for a couple of days.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried that but unfortunately it did not work for me :frowning: I locate the areas that you suggested that I make changes to, but no go.

Thanks for you suggestions. I have did what you suggested for both firewall and D+. Do you think it should start working now? Because, if so, I made the changes, rebooted my computer, and still no luck.

maybe a reinstall of your software for your scanner is in order try this. after you uninstall your software go into d+ advanced computer security policy and hit purge to take all the software out of its area. once this is all done please reinstall the scanner software and try activating it. Pay close attention to the d + alerts you get and allow and remember each one or treat them as trusted.

P.S. switch comodo to install mode before installing any software or uninstalling it.
