I have to say I was pretty excited to try this out after having sold TrendMicro since 2007 and having more problems with it’s firewalls on many computers than I have time to fix.
I like the smaller footprint than the Trend products and the fact that is is SOO FAASSST when scanning. Covers a whole 16GB Sandisk in less than two minutes…other products have taken over 30!
Unfortunately, this product from Comodo constantly crashes and causes a need to restart the computer.
This is especially apparent after the machine starts the screen saver or after the product starts/finishes a full system scan.
I will post the error codes next time it occurs, but I have to remove this as it is not protecting the system
Agreed. The Antivirus component is definitely the problem for me. Basically crashing like you said and I have to do a hard reset or shut down. The Firewall and D+ works perfect as always. Using the legendary NOD32 2.70.39 for now in place of Comodo Antivirus.
would love to hear your feedback after 3.9. we are continously improving the product. Its a huge development team that is working their back sides off every day to deliver you guys a product you deserve. Your support is so very important to make things happen. Pls keep the feedback coming to help us improve.
No apologies needed, but thanks for the reassuring comments. I also hope that COMODO continues to emphasise on light-weight but super-strong security solutions. The Antivirus component while performing any scanning (for example on-demand) is the only problem I have with regards to being too heavy on the system. If the AV-component was made more stable and if there was less impact on the system while scanning, I would be extrememly happy with CIS!
The other issues are that it is now crashing Activesync and it’s components, Business Contact MAnager, does not actually CLEAN the viruses - it just deletes the infected file.
Also, when it goes to send the error reports to Comodo, that always fails as well…
I tried to install it as a temporary solution for a client until we get some parts in…I stripped out the Norton 360 waste of code and attempted to install CIS. No go. kept failing and then I ended up removing all vestiges of it.
For this product to be player in my client base, it needs to work right out of the box.
I have been rooting for this product, but it is clearly not ready for prime time.
