Help?

There was an issue with backups created with previous versions of CB which was fixed in 4.0.7

To avoid the issue, the base backup needs to be recreated.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks

The base backup in this case was created with 4.0.7.

I have the same problem !!! I created a complete back up with 4.0.7 but the INCREMENTAL Backup failed with code 29 !!!

HELP ?

Hi,

To determine the cause of the issue we need the the first and the last 100MB from base backup file and it’s exact file size in bytes.

Please use this split file tool to split the base backup first to 104857600 bytes (100MB) and then to filesize - 104857600 bytes .
Upload the resulting 2 files (the smaller ones) to https://ccloud.com (you can create a free account), share them and post or send me the download link.

Thanks

Edit: changed from 10MB to 100MB due to large backup size and number of files.

I cannot install the split file tool : this is not a valid application for Win32

Same error on SplitFileTool here as well.

I think it’s caused by split file tool being compiled for 64 bit operating systems.
You can use this one compiled for 32 bit: https://server.backup.comodo.com/json/direct/default/SplitFileTool_x86.exe?key=a2753a96-0a4c-4f66-8b0f-b0fe47677874

Thanks

OK, so now it runs, but the tool can’t handle spaces in filenames?!

I:\Comodo Backups>SplitFileTool.exe
Type the full path of the file you want to split:
"I:\Comodo Backups\Documents and Settings_inc_files_INC_NO_0000000000.cbu"
file "I:\Comodo is not accessbile.

I:\Comodo Backups>

I’ll check it now.

Fixed the issue with spaces here:
https://server.backup.comodo.com/json/direct/default/SplitFileTool_x86_spaces_fixed.exe?key=8ba0f05b-0f16-4832-a6d1-ed4435222820

Thanks

I’m not able to resolve myself the problem.

sent links privately to Emanuel.

Please describe what aren’t you able to resolve.
I will help you step by step.
The steps are

  1. Download the program
  2. Run the program
  3. Type the full path of the backup
  4. Split to 104857600
  5. Upload the resulting smaller file to https://ccloud.com
  6. Split again. I’m not sure how big is your backup file.
    For example, if it’s 1000000000 bytes in size then split to (1000000000 - 104857600) = 895142400 bytes
  7. Again, upload the resulting smaller split to https://ccloud.com
  8. select the uploaded split files on ccloud.com and click share
  9. Click on the blue button go get the download link
  10. Post or email me the download links for the two splits.

Thanks

Thanks, I will come back tomorrow with a reply.

I’m sorry, this might take a few more days.
Monday I will have the results.

Thanks

Do you have the results?

It might be that CBU is running low on memory or memory fragmentation (on XP or server 2003).

To be sure please check CBU.exe memory consumption during backup. (Windows Task Manager → Processes → CBU.exe)
After the error happens again post or send me the CBU.exe.log and CBU.exe.logold.log in %TEMP%\ComodoLogsFolder. To open this folder go to windows menu → run → type %TEMP%\ComodoLogsFolder then hit enter.

We are still running further tests.
I will keep you updated tomorrow.

Thanks

what kind of back up I have to do? Incremental or full?

Same as above, incremental with Y_full_files_28_11_2011.cbu as backup base.

Thanks
