closed, instead of stealth, port

Because of a hardware crash i did a full XP SP3 reinstall. For the first time everything worked out of the box with Comodo so when today i did a ShieldsUp! all service ports scan i was surprised to see port 1025 (svchost) closed and not stealth as the rest.

Text summary:
Results from scan of ports: 0-1055

0 Ports Open
1 Ports Closed

1055 Ports Stealth

1056 Ports Tested

NO PORTS were found to be OPEN.

The port found to be CLOSED was: 1025

Other than what is listed above, all ports are STEALTH.

TruStealth: FAILED - NOT all tested ports were STEALTH,
- NO unsolicited packets were received,
- NO Ping reply (ICMP Echo) was received.

What can i do to fix that?

First of all are you behind a hardware firewall? Shields Up will check that first so your results with Comodo mean nothing. If not then simply run the stealth port wizard and select the options to “block all incoming connections”. After that reboot and then try the test again. I can pass this test with flying colors even without Comodo cause of my hardware modem.

I’m on a LAN network with MAC connection filtering so it has something resembling of a firewall. I first tested the Win firewall and none of the ports were stealth. This is why i kept getting alarms of blocked DCOM exploits at the 135 port from my Avast.
I did what you said and the test is ok now. Thank you.

Can you go into your router?
