Unfortunately version 6914 is known to be unstable. It is strongly advised to install previous stable build 6882, see the thread below:

I prefer a clean install of CIS with a big version step like from v11 to v12 but installing on top should also work (I think).
Whatever method you choose please make sure to export your current active configuration to a folder that is not part of the CIS installation folders. When you do a clean install import and activate the profile. When installing on top the installer will save the active configuration and makes it available in Configuration. You will have to activate the saved profile yourself.
