Can I run the free version of CIS on Windows Server 2008? The system requirements only list XP and Win 7 but I don’t know whether this means that it won’t run with Win Server.
It could work but it’s not supported, same goes for Win2003… It could cause unwanted behavior…
I understand about not being supported. Just curious whether anyone has run it successfully…
Not on 2008, i have however on W2k3 but i had some bad experience with the firewall not alerting incoming traffic, and also it’s very hard to run on a server if you don’t have extensive logging of alerts that are “timed-out” this could cause blocking without noticing it… unless you sit 24/7 behind your server
