CIS update checker keeps telling me that there are updates available, but when i run the updater nothing happens.
A:
If you are on Windows Vista this is possibly caused by the so called “VirtualStore”.

To solve this “problem” check the following folder(s)
%HOMEPATH%\appdata\local\virtualstore\program files\comodo\comodo internet security (or firewall for an old version).
If you have files there please close the GUI and remove all the files in that folder.
please make sure you clean out all userprofiles used on the system
Now reboot your system and the “false updates” should be gone.
