New AV-Test

How does Comodo score better in 0-day attacks than “widespread and prevalent” malware from the past 4 weeks?

Looks like CIS didn’t do so well on protection this time around…

One is a detection score. The other is a protection score. Comodo has solid protection, as always. Its detection, although adequate, should be a little better.

Ah. I see what you are saying. Thanks.

From the AV-Test report, My understanding is:
1.
Comodo CIS Protection test rate to the 0-days malware attacks is 100% in 2014 Nov, and Dec.
Above average. The industry average protection rate 94%

It means Comodo CIS provide a very good protection.

But Comodo CIS detection rate was 98% in 2014 Nov, and 97% in Dec, 2014.
Some what near the industry average, but below. Industry average is 99%

Performance is good, and

4 Comodo CIS has some space need to improve in Usability, such as false warning and false blockages.

Why should we have to detect the malware if we already protect you from it using some other mechanism?

Because using method described here & here malware can bypass all layers of Comodo protection.

I didnt see that reports and now Im thinking seriously on leaving CIS.

If a simple “exe” file, without any codes on it, can run with privilegies from a trusted file on the computer so if a lammer/cracker would he can make an malware/typo of only to affect CIS users? This is crazy!

Correct me if Im wrong Melih.

EDIT.: Another question is: Is CIS leaving the data-base av and going on the sandbox road only? If so we will be presented with serious problems from now on. Imagine this picture: a user turn on his computer. CIS takes sometime to executate and the user dont see that CIS is not running yet (this happens all the time in CIS 8). the user goes online and, by mistake, click on some ■■■■ link or download some bad stuff from an e-mail or an scan site, etc. Voila! his pc goes to limbo… only because CIS didnot protect him by av signatures and the sandbox is trickie.

Using the comodo sandbox is a nice feature but it can be dangerous because the messages it shows are not so intuitive.

LanGuy is back!!!

Comodo is not among the best list,But why “CEM” is not on the list of tests
