I never thought I gonna say this but one of the reasons I use Comodo AV is because it don’t block malicious links = less resources used. Once it gets into your system it would be sorry… DD power LOL! 8)

However, I would like to see more powerful blocking of phishing sites.

Cannot it be done by DNS?

And I would like to see phishing protection in GUI & not DNS as DNS is not used by everyone.

Comodo won’t offer phishing protection apart from Comodo DNS. Also it would be an overkill IMO… So many other things already to protect you… Browser itself, WOT, etc…

At the end of the day… It comes down to user awareness and how to check the site…

I have had three phishing attempts in the past week here in France. They all sent emails not blocked by Orange France spamblocker. The sites linked to appeared to be Orange itself asking for login details, Banque Postale which is popular in France and Apple itunes. The only live buttons on these were the spaces for passwords etc and none were known to WOT so I rated and commented on them all there. I also reported them to Google by right clicking the mail links.

This seems to be an increasing problem but it will be difficult to block these new phishing sites to protect the unwary. Rather like simple antivirus it is easy enough to block the old stuff everyone knows about.

phishing protection? Thats sounds expensive to implicate and I’m not sure they would put that in the free product, maybe a paid version possibly

Get K9 or something if interested in phishing protection.

I think comodo has done its job. I throw malware and my own code at it on a regular basis. I don’t need to see certification to verify its good. Norton and mcafee has plenty of certifications, but there easy to infect, bypass and shutdown. I can’t do that with comodo. Go to youtube and see some of the videos for yourself. it won’t take long to search
Firewall = Its as good as it gets
Hips = Its as good as it gets
Av = Sometimes its on top, sometimes its not. we all know its good
Sandbox = its really good, you can increase the settings so its more secure but some software wont work right or at all because itll be too restrictive . virus in a sandbox, just reset the sandbox and it goes away
virtual = I think it works fine

For a free product, it exceeds way beyond my own expectations. I cant be wrong

There are several anti-phishing chrome extensions, also from other vendors like avast!, WOT, Netcraft, BKav etc. I nevr tried them. Problem will be granting them all rights to your browser and/or pc data.
Comodo could publish a free antii-phshing extension for Chrome and Dragon.
By the way, Comodo attract many users working with Comodo products if they would offer Chrome and Firefox extensions. Click & Clean provides an extension with only 978 KB doing “all” except cooking the morning egg and baked beans. I never tested it but i think Comodo could do a even better job thab they do by offering a whole security tools including anti-phishing browser extension. Worth thinking about.

you are right Comodo is the best with its contents…and for FREE :-TU :SML:
phishing protection must be in this content for “Creating trust Online” ?

A most excellent explanation of comodo power.
I could not agree more.
Thanks.

In my opinion. phishing protection is the responsibility of a browser, not a security app. IE does a good job of it all by itself.
