I think CIS should provide protection for all the people connected to the internet, this means CIS should be available for as many platforms as possible… hmmmm… :THNK I think the problem here is when Microsoft drops support for certain operating systems, it is very difficult for companies to still give good support to those " end of life " operating systems…
I know it is hard for those people who still use those operating systems, but this is more and more reality…
Well a company like avast has its free antivirus available for Windows 95 to Vista 64 bits…
I don’t know how much CIS depends on the underlying OS (i guess mainly for the GUI) but i’m sure the porting effort would be very valuable for the community (even for windows XP and Vista users).
Strangely, I don’t understand the support for older operating systems like that. They’ve past their life cycle and been long abandoned by their developers in favor of newer, more secure OS software. It’s time to move on.
