CIS AV signatures not installed

10 hrs since CIS last time has updated itself (well signatures) and manual updating gives error when CIS tries to install signatures. Diagnostics says no problems and no logs.

Widows 10 (recently upgraded to 1809) tells this: Error HTTP read from download.comodo.com/cis/download/installs/stl/authroot.stl.7z, httpCode: 404 Error Code: 0x80070002 (The system cannot find the file specified.) and Error HTTP read from download.comodo.com/cis/download/updates/release/inis_5175/recognizers/proto_v10/cmdscope_update_x64.xml.7z, httpCode: 0 Error Code: 0x80072f78 (Unknown error 0x80072F78)

~650 CIS errors since 1809 update.

Uninstall and reinstall?

CIS is latest 11.x version minus signatures.

Setting in update comodo internet security and add: cdn.download.comodo.com

done (and removed other url) but still gives error.

event: Error HTTP read from cdn.download.comodo.com/cis/download/installs/stl/authroot.stl.7z, httpCode: 404 Error Code: 0x80070002 (The system cannot find the file specified.)

18 hrs since last update.

It would help to explain the exact error message you get for the AV install stage, and not the ones you find in windows event viewer as those are not related to your issue and can be ignored.

It doesn’t give other than this:

Task: Install signatures

Status: An error occurred while updating

1 day and counting. For some reason CIS itself doesn’t whine that too old signatures.

Try deleting all .cav files in ProgramData\Comodo\Cis\Signatures also delete any temp files found in ProgramData\Comodo\Cis\wpTemp except for the certupd and urls folder.

CIS locks cav-file. I’ll reboot and see if its deleted.

maybe that cav-file was deleted on restart or maybe not but now cis updates signatures.

well it didn’t take long for this to get appear again.

i hope this doesn’t start to become every weekend problem.
