CIS and BSOD at boot only

Hi, what drivers?
nVidia are 347.88.
I guess there are not new drivers for an old OS.

In theory we can try latest drivers for win10 after restore. Rechecked your previous logs, you are using Win vista.

Please just uninstall previous CIS Comodo Uninstaller Tool Use, Internet Security, Comodo Removal Tool | COMODO
and try new CIS as it is https://forums.comodo.com/news-announcements-feedback-cis/comodo-internet-security-2019-v12006810-ndash-released-t124007.0.html

Hi Mehteni,

sorry for the very big delay in replying.
I installed 6818 and I have to say that in these 15 days all is OK: no hang/BSOD at boot caused by cmdagent.
At the moment all is fine and I am happy!
Many many thanks to you and to the dev!

Best,

Hi, Metheni

since one week I noticed BSOD at boot again, with untitled2 — Postimages

here all the logs:

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1_EzU-Q4fDLublbyPN5Wp8KlodG1UFTaq

could you say what happened?
thanks a again.
Best,

Hi anuswara,

Thank you for reporting, could you please check your Inbox for private message and provide the requested logs.

Thanks Metheni,
requested logs just sent via PM.

Best,

Hi anuswara,

Thanks for providing the logs requested. Our developers are checking it.

Hi anuswara,

Could you please collect MEMORY.DMP from location C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP and provide to us for further investigation.

Thanks,
Mathi R

Hi Metheni and Mathi R,

here the requested link:

thanks. Best,

Hi anuswara,

From the provided dump file our developers see that cis drivers are not involved in crash stack. From the Windows event logs they found that issue occurred once.
So, could you please uninstall & re-install CIS and check after that. If the issue will be reproduced again after re-install, kindly provide us new logs and MEMORY.DMP file.

Thank you in advance!

Hi Metheni,

after reinstall all becomes harder, because BSOD with dumps turned into a OS total hang without dumps!
Therefore all I can do at the moment is to send to you event viewer logs.
You can find event with OS hang and event with no problems, with the purpose to analize the differences. I added an install log even after the OS hang where the date is 31th dec 2019 (!) even if the system clock and date are ok!

events from:
28th sept at 00.54
(happened while performing the def update at this point:
“18% Finalizing…” “definitions installation…90%” )

30th sept at 11:01

today 9th oct at 10:39: OS hang

  • reboot with a wrong date (wrong for CIS only, not for OS!).

since you said that crash stack did not dispay cis drivers (what drivers are were involved?) but that the dev found something wrong about Cis via EventViewer, here all the events:

https://drive.google.com/open?id=1TmJbpdTYJVU4CY8oehDvXIwcEy-MN6hw

Thanks a lot.
Best Regards,

Hi anuswara,

Thank you. We have forwarded the current logs to developers for further investigations.

Thanks,
PD

Hi anuswara,

Could you please check your PM and perform the requested actions.

Hi Metheni,

I just sent to you via PM the new dumps (event viewer + memory).
I followed your suggestions about Regedit: it seems that Vista allows me to collect a full dump 3,12GB (not 4GB = the ram), it is really called “full”. I hope that this may be enough.
Thanks in advance,
Best

Hi anuswara,

Thank you, we have forwarded the logs to developers.

Hi anuswara,

Thanks for your Co-operations.

Your “Windows System Events” shows us that there are a lot of error related to some drivers every time when device starts and two services are not able to start - one of them HP service hung on starting and the second one winpowermonitor service is terminated.

First Dump : It was created automatically and provided by you that clearly shows that “CIS drivers are not involved in crash Stack”.

Second Dump : It was collected manually by you it also shows that “Drivers are absent as well”.

Finally it seems like an Windows Issue.Hence kindly update the windows version (Win 7 or higher OS) in order to use CIS on it or else if you want to continue in Windows Vista kindly re-install the CIS v12.0.0.6818. But we recommend to use the first option due to windows 7 or higher OS are supported and if new bugs will be found in CIS on these OS,they will be fixed unlike for CIS on windows Vista.

Kindly provide us the feedback.

Thanks,
PD

The last version for XP and Vista was 6870 - https://forums.comodo.com/news-announcements-feedback-cis/comodo-internet-security-2019-v12006870-ndash-released-t124601.0.html

Hi and thanks to all contributors of this topic and their patience with me, sorry the dalay.
Perhaps I have good news.

[at]Dharshu:
Thanks your analysis I uninstalled WinpowerMonitor 2009 with Java6 (and installed WinpowerMonitor 2019 with Java8, because UPS sw is important for countdown during blackout); then I simply erased ALL the 12 HP services/sw (never used) and…now it seems very good, during this week zero hangs at boot!! (and this old PC need 1,5 minutes only to be operative after boot instead of 10 minutes required in the past).
Here the one and only error at boot that I found:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=10cm9lE-2RLWdFO9NzxPFn-wPqJ356ci3
(this time I added the english language to the log)
…but fortunately without any strange effect on the OS.

[at]R2C2:
it seems that 6818 is the final version, because the link to 6870 leads us to 69xx.

Thanks to all (Metheni too!), at the moment I am happy, I fixed this good OS behaviour with an image of C:\

Best Regards,

Hi anuswara,

Thank you for your kind response, seems sounds Good!

okay,I will forward the log to our developers and notify you.

Regards,
PD

hi, that seems a CIS crash at boot:

here a folder with all the logs, even the complete dump (better/more logs than these are for me/for my OS simply unpossible to offer/to produce), I hope that finally you can fix this, because the photo above shows that CIS is involved with boot issues
(we already tried to uninstall reinstall your app, as you see this task did not help).

Merry Xmas.
