CIS 2025 is now LIVE!

Regarding the loss of configuration, I’ll give you an example :

A customer uses software that originates from a country in conflict.
The software is very good.
However, the customer doesn’t want to take any risks.
HIPS and firewall rules are applied so that the software can only do what it is supposed to do.
The publisher is taken off the trusted list and manually set to “unknown”.
The customer validates the procedure and feels at ease with it.
Visit a week later:
The config has disappeared, along with all the settings and parameters.
The customer doesn’t know if he’s been exposed: Total loss of confidence!
Impossible to recommend this product (CIS) or brand (Comodo)!
I’m losing face!

Try, for example, setting an editor to “Unknown” and then saving the config.
Some time later, go back and check = it’s set to “Approved” again…

Thank you for all your answers Lexylixi.

I don’t know if it’s because I’m in France, but the EDR activation procedure is too tedious. After several tries, I give up.

Same thing for Xcitium EAP…

Too complicated to obtain.

And too expensive for the moment.

For me, Comodo CIS Pro without bugs is ideal.

Huh? Are you sure you downloaded the right version? The latest one …

Hi Varan,
I downloaded from here : https://download.comodo.com/cis/download/installs/9040/standalone/cispremium_installer.exe
But I don’t know if it’s the 32 bits standalone version or 64 version.

Merci pour votre aide, je parle français.

The installer itself is 32-bit, but it installs 64-bit CIS Premium.

Also, devs, can I make a few requests?

When CIS is under password protection and when the password prompt pops up, can you make the text input field grab focus? It’s just a minor annoyance that I always have to put my cursor in the text field before typing the password.
Or is it for security reasons designed like that?

Also, I would like to have an additional option for on-screen alert timeout: “Indefinitely”. As stuff happens when I’m away and setting the timeout to 999 seconds is silly and insufficient.

Number 8 bug is true there is no green border when running a sandboxed app which launches CMD or powershell, but on Xcitium AEP it does sandbox cmd, powershell etc

If you don’t check it, it will be visible indefinitely.

I actually have the same problem as you, it’s the same BUG.
As my CIS is password protected, when I go to use it and enter the password it doesn’t stay focused, every time I have to click to be able to enter the password, as shown in the image below.

Does anyone know why Microsoft’s antivirus remains active even with CIS installed?
Could this be another COMODO bug?

Probably because the AV is only a part of Windows Defender.

Hello, when antivirus software is installed, Windows’ own antivirus is disabled by default.

In this case, that is not happening. Sometimes it is disabled when I restart the computer and sometimes it is not.

That is why I am saying that it is a BUG.

Other antivirus software such as Kaspersky, Bitdefende, Eset and Norton and others, automatically disable it, even when you restart at some point.

The first two entries don’t appear for me.

It appears here for me, but when I restart it doesn’t appear, then from time to time it appears again, so I have to restart the computer.
I find this very strange.

try change firewall status to “disabled” and then back to “Safe Mode” , Windows does not always see Comodo as active

Hello @Umut ,

Thank you very much for the great compilation and the company’s intention to deal with those bugs and improvement proposals!

After review, my list of main items in decreasing order of priority is:
64, 26, 7, 6, 4, 5, 16&51, 58&59, 48, 46, 47 and 50.

Thanks in advance for updating the list after your review, with best regards,
infosec

P.S. Most of the 42 items on @DecimaTech consolidated bug list that was last updated 1/23/2024 List of current bugs have been covered here, but not all. Was that because you could still not reproduce them as stated by @C.O.M.O.D.O_RT here List of current bugs discussion - #292 by C.O.M.O.D.O_RT ?

Oh, is that actually fixed in the latest version? I remember in old version when timeout value was not set then CIS used some default value, a couple minutes perhaps?
So in this new version the alert actually stays until interacted with?

Hello, my friend!

Please have a look in the Windows Security settings if you haven’t left the possibility to do quick scans…

At this point everything is correct, because when it restarts it is ok, but sometimes the Windows antivirus stays together with COMODO.

What has to happen is that COMODO has to be the first option, sometimes it doesn’t, so I think it is a CIS bug.
