cfpupdat.exe consumes 100% CPU

I’m running Firewall 4.0 on WINDOWS XP. cfpupdat.exe eats up 100% of a CPU core. How to fix it?

As a workaround you can disable CIS from automatically looking for program updates. Go to More → Settings → General → and disable it.

What version of CIS are you running? Look under More -->About for the exact version number.

Thanks for the reply. I made a typo in the version. In fact it is 4.1.150349.920

Disabling update it behaves normally.

Not sure what could be causing this. Do you have other security programs running in the background? Try disabling them and see what happens.
