Greetings All,
Is there a way to get CFP to block requests to modify files or internet connections by various programs while I’m gaming? I really liked the gaming mode feature of ZA and am hoping I can do something similar in CFP. I tried looking for other threads about this and found none but feel free to point me in the right direction if I over looked something.
As far as internet connections go, I have those pretty well covered but occasionally a new Vista program decides it wants to connect. I handle those case by case no problem but occasional D+ pop-ups are harder to predict.
Any suggestions are appreciated.
Happy Holidays,
Michael

Some kind of “silent mode” that will allow and/or block everything without pop-ups:
go to Miscellaneous->Settings->Parental Control->set your password and place all ticks.
What the ZA gaming mode does is:
- allow all traffic without questions
- block all traffic without questions
So you could disable the firewall while gaming online, or make a appropiate rule for the game.
Here is a quote from the help files:
Training Mode : The firewall will monitor network traffic and create automatic allow rules for all new applications until the security level is adjusted. You will not receive any alerts in 'Training Mode' mode. If you choose the 'Training Mode' setting, we advise that you are 100% sure that all applications installed on your computer are assigned the correct network access rights.
Tip: Use this setting temporarily while playing an online game for the first time. This will suppress all alerts while the firewall learns the components of the game that need internet access and automatically create ‘allow’ rules for them. Afterwards you can switch back to your previous mode.
