cfp.exe high cpu usage CIS v5 2011

Windows 7 64-bit latest service pack 2.33 GHz dual core 7GB RAM
ESET NOD32 and Process Explorer always running but NEVER scanning

In Proactive Security mode with Defense+ in Training Mode cfp.exe uses up to 60% of cpu

Had to disable Defense+ OR bump up to Safe Mode to quell cpu
UAC disabled

You have ESET NOD32 antivirus installed and on, do you have both the antivirus and the firewall of Comodo CIS installed?

This can often happen when you have more than one anti-virus/real time scanner(process explorer) running.

~edit~ 'referance for later
Also, antivirus scanners tend to try and delete each other and will often recognize each other’s virus database as a virus. One will fight to protect itself while the other keeps attempting to delete it. Basically, you’re having an antivirus fight night on your computer.

i.e. if you have Trend Micro Worry Free Security SMB client as well as Panda Antivirus installed, your system will slow to a crawl.

This makes me think yes, you have conflicting real time scanners. In particular COMODO Defense+ is detecting a program scanning your files.

~edit~ bad idea suggested while half asleep~/edit~

Try adding NOD32 and all processes to the allow rules in defense+ and see what happens.

that’s Defense+ ----> Computer Security Policy ----> defense+ rules —> add ----> select —> browse

~edit~better idea

disable ESET and see if that helps.

Further things to try here.

Please ask a mod to return this topic to bug forum if these fixes don’t work
