CD 36.1.1.21 Ie4uinit.exe issue with Sandboxie

Ie4uinit.exe stays open after closing CD 36.1.1.21. This won’t allow Sandboxie to automatically delete the contents of the sandbox. I must manually delete the contents of the sandbox or terminate all programs.

What’s this process for and can you please fix this?

Thank you

Hi Jamin4u,
The mentioned file is commonly a Microsoft file, used for setup/initialization of some versions of Internet Explorer.
Commonly found in the following location.
C:\Windows\System32

Kind regards.

Well then! why does comodo dragon needs to execute it each time it’s starts?!

@captainsticks

I was wondering why CD needs this file? AFAIK I’ve never seen CD use it.

@Dennis2

Thanks for the link, I missed that post.

I see Ie4uinit.exe executed by CD only when in a sandboxed environment. In Sandboxie or Comodo Sandbox.

Ie4uinit.exe isn’t executed on my system when CD is opened outside of a sandboxed environment.

Please don’t lose track of why I started this thread…

Ie4uinit.exe stays open after closing CD 36.1.1.21. This won’t allow Sandboxie to automatically delete the contents of the sandbox.

I added Ie4uinit.exe to lingering programs under program stop in Sandboxie. It terminates a process if it is still executing in the sandbox after all other programs are ended.

I still would like someone to look into this please and come up with a fix if the process is not needed.

Thanks

Hi Jamin4u,
I have contacted the Dev’s and see if they can shed some light on why this process is required for Dragon under these circumstances.

Kind regards.

I have the same problem with Sandboxie and ie4uinit.exe,it’s very annoying.Never happened before with old versions of CD…

Not a word yet from the dev’s… :frowning:
