CCE Test

I think he didn’t have to use aggressive mode cause no malware was blocking CCE from starting…

I mostly use “Aggressive Mode” just to speed up things, since most malware may not block CCE, but they do eat up a lot of resources.

He has explained in his blog that he was testing CCE specifically excluding Killswitch. I’ve asked him why he decided to so this as, IMHO, the two apps are more than complimentary.

Taking the view of Mr. and Mrs. Average, the steps he took are logical - download the app, run it and you are presented with the three scan icons, the first of which is Smart Scan and this is what he ran.

Maybe Comodo should consider integrating the Killswitch process analysis as an initial stage to all scans. Click a scan icon and have a window showing all suspect processes before the scan commences offering to terminate them. Best of both worlds?

I agree with his explanation. Looks more logical for an average user. :-TU
But, as it has been said many times, CCE is not designed to be an average user tool.

May be a button offering to restart CCE in “Aggressive Mode” would do the trick.

Even if for average users, he would have atleast run CCE full scan instead of smart scan.

And CCE is for advanced users, yes tweaking it for average users is always a welcome.

But testing an advanced tool & not fully utilizing it & saying it failed is completely wrong in my opinion.

Interesting to get a reaction to this from the developers

Again not CCE test, but one of its components test i.e CCE scan test.

He mentions if the scanning engine of the tool fails the whole tool fails ???
