CBU using ARP?

Hi all,

I just upgraded from v3 to v4 (4.07 to be exact) on WinXP 32-bit and Win7 64-bit. On both systems, every time I run CBU4, it begins launching command shell subprocesses, each of which in turn launches arp.exe. Dozens of cmd.exe/arp.exe instances are launched - 2 at a time - continuing for nearly 2 minutes during which the CBU GUI is slow to the point of being unresponsive.

I have VMware installed on these systems, so there are 3 virtual networks on each host alongside the physical one, but the virtual networks don’t appear to arp even when they are in use. And arp is being executed dozens of times, not once or twice per network adapter as one might expect.

Why is CBU using arp at all? And why call arp so many times?

Thanks,
George

It uses arp to list the network computers.
It shouldn’t call arp so many times, so it’s a bug.
The problem will be fixed in next release.

Thanks
