Last time we spoke with Microsoft, they stated that they are in the extended support phase of Windows 2000. This will run until July 2010. This means that Windows 2000 will receive full security updates until that date, and support through the normal MS channels will continue. From then self help support will be available. Although there are no current plan to extend support MS have a habit of changing there mind at the last minute (as with XPs demise!) if customer demand is present.
I already have A FIREWALL. I only need an antivirus. Using CAV2.0 BETA NOW!
I would recommend our new and upcoming Comodo Time Machine for your educational computers. Its god sent for education!
Sorry about stopping the support for the beta, in theory, it should not have been used in production environments anyway, but we had many people who did use it in production. All the development for the new AV happened in 2008 and we couldn’t simply justify supporting w2k knowing that its about to be discontinued to be supported.
Again, sorry for to inconvinience and I love Wales! (Just ask around, there are many grateful Seagles in Llandudno that I fed bread to )
