Tried to perform an entire-volume backup of Startup HD to a new Firewire 800 connected external drive:
CAV appears to sabotage the backup effort (i.e., it looks like CAV’s resident FileAccess Daemon won’t allow CCC to access a whole bunch of files on the source drive).
