Could you point to the web page where you see it states CIS and CAV are compatible with Win 2k? The web site is wrong.

CIS was never designed to work with Windows 2000. The old Comodo Firewall 2.x will work on Windows 2000.

Well, this may just be a “D’Oh!” situation.

The download link I was using:

http://download.comodo.com/cis/download/installs/2000/standalone/cispremium_installer.exe

All I’m looking for is AV, not anything else. Ideas???

As mentioned by EricJH, CIS does not support Windows 2000. I will therefore move this to the HELP section of the forum.

You can use http://download.comodo.com/cis/download/installs/3000/standalone/cav_installer.exe . Or use the CIS installer you already downloaded and choose Customize installation and choose to only install the AV.

Using the above mentioned installer, …/3000/standalone/cav_installer.exe, returns the error, “not a valid Win32 application” immediately after extracting when executed in Windows 2000 Professional.

So you know.

CIS, CFP and CAV are not designed to run on Windows 2000 hence the error message. They support Windows XP SP2 and later.
