Can't scan or update, after installing offline installer

Your link is working for me here using Firefox 77.0.1 and Windows 10, Version 1909.
It brings up the link without error using https and port 443.

It is also working properly on a ancient Pentium III computer running Debian Buster 10.2 and Firefox ESR 68.9.0 (Why? Because I can).

The following links are also working properly for me, bringing them up using https without error.
These are all for Version 12.2.2.7036.

Problem is resolved! Thanks for the quick response!

I’m still getting a content decoding error when I try to install the online setup of CFW (edit!):After several attempts I got it to work.

I am glad to hear that it is now working for you.
Regards.

Only way I Could get it to install was using the offline download. Still cannot update it.

Just contacted GeekBuddy online chat and this was the response I received:

“Me: Error: 0x80072f8f - Content decoding has failed during update”

“Fred: We do have an issue at our end and we have escalated this issue, it should hopefully be working by tomorrow”

So they are aware of the issue and working on it and hopefully it will start working tomorrow

The update function is working now (6/4). I suspect that someone at COMODO used a “*.comodo.com” certificate on the “cdn.download.comodo.com” infrastructure, which is an invalid combination and therefore SSL/TLS will fail.

Hello AMGPilot,

Are you still facing the issue about “can’t able to update the offline installer”?
Have a nice day!

i cant still update, with https. with http i can.

Hey pasch,
Sorry for the inconvenience,it will be fixed soon.

I have the same problem.

  1. I change from https to http. Then I get the error for

"check for program update "
Error: 0x80072f78 - The server returned an invalid or unrecognized response
but it works for “check for recognizer update”

  1. I try to re-install but fails. Then I try to download a fresh copy free firewall installer. Firefox returns an error:

… The certificate for download-cn.comodo.com expired on 2/24/2020

Updated on Jun 6
changing https to https in the “proxy and host” now works .

error code: sec_error_expired_certificate.

please help

Having the same issue here as of 6/5/20 at 18:00 CDT.

I wanted to mention that the online installer isn’t working either. I also was able to get it to start working by adding the http url to the update server list.

On a side note, today after I uninstalled the old Comodo Firewall (as the version I was on before never informed me there was a new major release), I noticed that my Windows Firewall stopped working. Fortunately, I was able to get the latest version installed so I don’t have to worry but I was wondering if anyone else had issues with Windows Firewall not working anymore in Windows 10.

Same problem with Win10 firewall not working. I also tried installing CIS on my new laptop to no avail. I have paid for 3 licenses and can’t use one of them because of these issues. Money down the drain I guess.

Hopefully they will get this mess figured out soon but here are the links I used to get CIS up and running until they do.

Here is the link for the offline installer for CIS: http://download.comodo.com/cis/download/installs/1000/standalone/cispremium_only_installer.exe

You can download the updated Databases here: Comodo Anti Malware Database Latest Version & Additions 2023

BTW I always disable Windows Firewall and Defender while I CIS installed. You don’t want two firewalls running at the same time.

Good luck

I do as well…I was just going crazy because I was sure that I had some kind of malware/rootkit that disabled it. It just so happened that I was having problems upgrading my Comodo Firewall at the same time so I thought maybe this was some kind of novel rootkit that was disabling all Firewall software (I do have NOD32 and Malwarebytes Premium installed as well but they weren’t picking up anything). It’s a slight relief to know that I’m not the only one with the issue (although I do feel bad that others are having the issue as well).

One thing I did do was try to upgrade my Windows 10 to 2004. With the outdated version of Comodo Firewall, the internet connection was turning on and off as one of the modules of the program was struggling to stay up and running. The program just kept crashing so I realized then that I must be running an older, outdated version of Comodo. The first thing I did was roll back the Windows upgrade. For all I know, that could have broken Windows Firewall. The next thing I did was uninstall Comodo and install the latest version.

Besides Windows Firewall not working, everything else seems to be runnning okay on my machine now.
