I have looked on the forum and have not been able to find a solution to the problem
“Can’t install “Update failed. Error code 0x80004002. No such interface supported”
Trie,d all the solutions suggested except the changing of the hard drive from dynamic to basic as it is already set to basic and I thought you could not go back to basic after the drive was set to dynamic, your help please
Uninstall the current version of CIS and after successful uninstalling, use the CIS clean up tool in safe mode (by pressing F8 when the computer boots)
Thank you for your welcome. I have downloaded the files you said I should and will try it but would like to give you this information. I downloaded and installed Microsoft’s latest firewall/antivirus software on the machine and was getting the same error message, does that further help with diagnosing what could be wrong, this is the first time I have ever come acrooo this problem and I have installed your software on all my friends machines and they work, ecept this one
I will comment the information that you gave me :). You can’t have (to be more correct you shouldn’t have) comodo’s antivirus realtime protection/scanner and Microsofts’s antivirus realtime protection/scanner at the same time so you have to choose which antivirus you want with realtime protection on and which one works as an on-demand scanner.
I personally recommend you to have microsoft’s AV as ondemand scanner.
Summary: Have only one antivirus with realtime protect.
Hey Valentin I must correct you as I did not make it clear in my last post, only one antivirus was installed at any one time. Because I felt that there may be a problem with Comodo I uninstalled it first then intalled Microsoft. When I received the same error message uninstalled Microsoft and put back Comodo, does that help?
As long as you have only on AV with realtime protection then you should be okey and added MSE to exclusions in "detect shellcode injections. May I ask what this error is related to? is to comodo or windows update?
If is related to CIS then might be a bug but it’s related to windows update then you are trying to install an update that is already installed
