Can't install on Vista x64

Hi,
I would very much like to try the new Comodo Firewall but unfortunately I can’t! (:AGY)

I have tried to install two versions of the firewall: the previous version (can’t remember the version number) and the most recent one (3.0.14) with no luck.

Whenever I try to install it the installer shuts down with the message “Comodo Firewall has stopped working” and "Do you want to send more information about the problem.

I have today updated my Vista x64 with the latest updates from Microsoft.

I have tried to disable UAC, Windows Firewall and any 3. party security software (Eset NOD32 Antivirus 3.0) and Counterspy Antispyware and still no luck.

Please help!
Klemme

We have had a few reports of interference from Windows Defender. Go to MS configuration and disable it from loading at start and see if that helps.

I have exactly the same problem. I get the “In case you have any third party personal firewall installed…” message, and then I click on “Yes” and then get the “COMODO Firewall Installer has stopped working” error box.

System specs:

Vista Ultimate 64 with all the latest fixes.
4Gig Ram
E6300 @ 3.15
EVGA 680i MB

Any help appreciated.

Ok I solved my problem.

klemme - do you have Windowblinds installed by any chance? if you do, add it the list for windowblinds to ignore. It seems to be a skinning issue with me.

Well yes, I have Windowblinds installed and what do you know! I did what you suggested and it worked!
Thanks a lot, saxon!
