(Maybe this belongs in ‘Help’. Moderator might want to move this.)

CD will not open. Red splotchy outlines around top of CD and around the window; and a message says CD cannot open. A message under it says preference file is corrupt. I clear this and CD closes and then reopens again and the same thing happens… some lower taskbar message said some inspector thing will always remain open in the background (web inspector or web dog?). I can’t see these messages again unless I try to open CD again and I will not even try to do that and be stuck in that loop again.

Can I do anything about this?

CD v29, PORTABLE;
Windows Vista SP whatever (2);
Toshiba Satellite is 5 years old.
Fortunate to also have IE 9 and Firefox 24.

This is way too annoying. I tried opening Comodo Dragon again (inside file say, v28.1.0.0, updated to this newest version only a couple days ago). Same problem. Each time there was an additional message about each next plugin or extension opening and remaining open even after any window closes. Windows also allowed me to see this message:

I’m too frustrated with this. I will delete the folder containing this portable form of Comodo
Dragon.

I am still interested in what any knowledgable person has to say.

Meanwhile, I have deleted the folder for the portable form of Comodo Dragon, VERSION 28…whatever; and put on the portable version 29 of Comodo Dragon. So far, so good. I am using Comodo version 29 portable right now. Not sure yet what to expect, since I just made some option changes in the settings.

Hello,

What is the install location of Comodo Dragon? Is UAC enabled on that system?
Please let us know if you have any other details.

Note: Because Dragon portable keeps its user profile in the installation folder it will not work correctly when installed in a location restricted by UAC (“Program files” for example). When the browser tries to write or read user data it is blocked by the UAC. Dragon has to be placed in a location that is not restricted by UAC.

Thank you.
