Cannot Install Comodo Time Machine

Cannot install Comodo Time Machine v2.1.116458.141 Beta. I get an error message as follows

“Comodo Time Machine can’t detect your disk ID Please restart your PC & try again”

After multiple restarts even in Safe Mode it will not install.

I am using Windows XP SP3, Sandboxie, Panda Cloud Antivirus and Comodo Firewall & Defense + in proactive security mode, KeyScrambler.

Any help appreciated

do you have any extra hard-drives?

Do you have a USB hard drive connected? if yes… then disconnect it and try again.

Yes I do have a USB hard drive connected.

As a matter of fact, I have just managed to get CTM installed (prior to reading your post) this time round I did NOT have the USB HD running although it was still connected.

Questions

  1. Could you explain why you suggested disconnecting USB HD?

  2. Is not having it running sufficient (as opposed to pulling out the USB plug)?

  3. Is this a common problem because I have not read about it before?

I just suggested it because i had the same problem also and removing the USB drive fixed.

After having installed CTM you can reconnect and run the USB harddrive, it wont interfere with CTM.
