cannot import Bookmarks from IE8

Windows 7 Ultimate x64, CIS

Just upgraded today with the latest (4.0.1.6) Dragon. Updated fine and worked great (well done, team).

Later, I uninstalled CIS 3.14, rebooted, and installed 4.xxx.779. Rebooted, and set up the configurations as I desired, rebooted again and confirmed it functioning OK (sandbox enabled, D+ and Firewall Safe Mode, Proactive, etc.) Seems to be working good thus far.

Then I restarted Dragon. WOW. No bookmarks, no Extensions, Home page did not come up right (should bring me to the Forum). It is as though all previous settings were never there.
I cannot import IE8’s bookmarks at present (several bookmarks were unique to this browser - not listed in IE8). I did re-install the extensions, though and reset the home page.

Any ideas to help import the bookmarks?

I’ve found the problem:

Exchange the top of the exported IE html file with the following lines (write over):
New code:

<!DOCTYPE NETSCAPE-Bookmark-file-1>
<!-- This is an automatically generated file.
     It will be read and overwritten.
     DO NOT EDIT! -->
<META HTTP-EQUIV="Content-Type" CONTENT="text/html; charset=UTF-8">
<TITLE>Bookmarks</TITLE>

Old code:

<!DOCTYPE NETSCAPE-Bookmark-file-1>
<!-- This is an automatically generated file.
It will be read and overwritten.
Do Not Edit! -->
<TITLE>Bookmarks</TITLE>

Until there’s a fix, use notepad to edit the exported html file.

I moved your post to bugs, so maybe we can get a fix in the next release.

Ark

The original installation of Dragon, I only had to select “Import”, it did the rest and automatically imported the bookmarks from IE8.
