Can CAVS scan the other PCs on my network?

There are two ways you can scan other PCs on your LAN.

METHOD 1
Open CAVS and click the VIRUS SCAN button and select “Scan Folders/Drives”. In the window that appears, click the PLUS sign next to “My Network Places”. This will display a list of the PCs on your LAN. You can select an individual PC, or multiple PCs, on your LAN to scan.

METHOD 2
You can “map” a drive letter to the drives on the other PCs and set the connection so it reconnects each time you log in. These drives will then be scanned every time you do a system scan, as your system “sees” these remote drives as being part of its system.

Of these two methods, METHOD 1 is the preferred solution. Although you will have to manually select to scan the remote drives, there are security concerns when you map a drive letter to the root folder of a drive.
