upon receiving this defense alert —> syntpenh.exe is trying to modify firefox.exe-- my computer totally freezes --am about to uninstall this program due to this bug, and the fact that it is not very user friendly–unless— someone can point me in the direction of a fix for this infuriating freezeup issue, and a source of info to configure this thing correctly.

You must be using a laptop computer. If you get a Defense+ Alert for “syntpenh.exe” you should allow this. Do you have your Defense+ security level set to Clean PC Mode. I’m using a laptop with Defense+ set to Clean PC Mode and it did not block syntpenh.exe.
