BOClean winsock cleaning issue, pretty much resolved now.

Hello,

I just installed BOClean on my PC and rebooted as per instructions, and as soon as I logged back into windows it detected the executable of the program SpoonProxy as Malware (false positive I think?). After that my LAN connection on that PC won’t get past “Acquiring Network Address”.

I read this thread: https://forums.comodo.com/comodo_boclean_antimalware/boclean_locked_user_out_of_inet-t27668.0.html

And tried both the suggested solutions to fix the winsock registry/stack, neither of them changed things

Any further help would be very much appreciated.

Thank you.

UPDATE:

I restored a backup image of the OS partition over it and it still wouldn’t find an IP automatically.

So it turns out, silly me, entering the IP configuration details manually was what it wanted.

But, I don’t know why it could no longer find them automatically, it did before just fine, and another pc on the same router is still happy to be assigned an IP by DHCP.

But then, I know very little about how it all works so I’ma just be quiet and happy now.

Hi jstw, welcome to the forum

I am glad you solved this issue yourself  But if you beleve SpoonProxy is a false positive, can you please follow this procedure :

Thank you m8
