BOClean not completly removed?

When I uninstalled the application because of my previous problem the uninstaller did not completly remove the application BOCore.exe and the named application still continued to run and caused XP to reboot.

Hi meman887

You tried to uninstall BOClean while it was still running. In general always stop a program from running before you uninstall it.

You can stop BOClean from running like this :

1 ) Right-click the BOClean icon in the traybar and left-click “Shut down BOClean”.

Or :

2 ) Open the Task Manager ( press Ctrl Alt Del as the same time ) and in the Processes list stop the BOCore.exe proces.

I suggest you use the 2nd option to be sure that BOCore.exe is not running. Than install BOClean and IMMEDIATELY ( so DON’T reboot and/or start BOClean ) unsinstall it again.

Let me know if that fixed it

I might have not made my self clear last time, I did completly shutdown the app before removing it, also checking in Task Manager to make sure that all entries were terminated, however by the looks of it, the uninstaller hadn’t completly removed it, left the BOCore.exe and it’s folder there still, and also left automatic startup options in automatic startup.

However I did manage to remove it, by manaualy removing the folder and it’s automatic startup from msconifg in safe mode, then after doing that, I got XP to use Last known good configuration, then I rolled back to a previous Restore Point before installing BOClean.

Anyway managed to resolve my problem.

Very strange :-\ I have installed, deinstalled and reinstalled BOClean on many PC’s and I have never encountered such problem. At least you managed to solve it, and that is a good thing

Iv’e just had a thought might not be relivant, but could be a possibility perhaps.

Well I do have XP SP3 V3311 installed on XP Professional, I do know that it does still have a few problems to be ironed out as of yet, so could it have been this that caused my problem?
