I have installed Comodo Antivirus 5.3 on my Win7. I need to clarify something. If I check the option More/Preference/Ballon message, Comodo show me pop-up windows, like updates, virus alert detection etc. Is there an option to show only the pop-up of antivirus alert detection and not the update notification anytime that happened?

Just disable “Show balloon messages” because it doesn’t show anything if AV has detected a virus.

Make sure you have checked AV \ Scanner Settings \ show alerts/notification messages.

This alert doesn’t appear on my desktop. I tried two tests. First with “ballon message” and second without that . Maybe, I have Comodo Antivirus only and not CIS ?!
On the real time scanning, alert box is marked by default, never changed that.
I assume you have the option to “Automatically quarantine threats found during scanning” enabled under Real Time Scanning.
If you disable that you will see the alert nime posted.
If you want to leave automatically quarantine threats active, and you disable the baloon messages, then you won’t receive any notification that the virus was quarantined.
Honestly, it’s safer to reply to the alert yourself. That way if it’s a FP you can investigate it without it automatically being removed.
