I’ve been playing with ZTL and backup has been implimented using dump and tar, so that issue is taken care of for most functions. I’m testing now to tape.
Now to ease of disaster recovery…
Are ZTL configuration files written to a centralized repository as well as their native locations? If they were consolidated, it would ease recovery from critical system failures as well as administrative missteps. Personally, I would prefer more granularity than just a raw dump of a filesystem.
It would be really swell to be able to revert to known working configurations through the web interface and configs are small enough that you wouldn’t even have to worry about diffs.
