AVG has for the longest time been one the worst offenders of collecting personal data. Collecting all kinds of data including each and every website you visit. The protection has become the enemy. How anyone uses these AV’s is beyond me. Trading protection for personal data. They claim that the data in non personal and to that I say bullsh1t. Aggregated data can easily be traced back to a particular user. Even Avast will not let you install their software without you first having to agree to these polices. I had to rant on this because it is just plain wrong and shows even the vendors who claim to protect you have other interests in mind. I would use only on demand scanners or other means before ever touching this type of crapware on a PC
Indeed sad days. More and more vendors from what I see go to these dark paths, trade your privacy for security. I really hope Comodo will remain the same in terms of privacy, if not I will switch to Linux.
