i searched the forums but couldn’t find anything.
In the opinions of the users of the forums which provides the best protection.
Ive already tried comodo and i like it but i want to use something else oh and btw i will be using comodo firewall!

Avira Web Guard is much better then Avasts 5 web shield.
When it comes to exploits, drive-bys, and all that other stuff when surfing the web, Avast could never beat aviras web guard. Never!!! If comodo could ever team up with a different AV company, I hope it would be Avira.

I would say exactly the contrary…

If you check some avast detections (missed miserably by Avira) in VirusTotal you won’t say “never”…

But more than that…
Are you comparing the paid web guard of Avira with the free web shield of avast?
Even so, I’ll take avast with my closed eyes.

Good combination.
But I think it would be better Comodo Firewall with Defense+ and only the avast antivirus.
Or even CIS complete instead of avast antivirus. They have different approaches as Melih explained in quite some videos on Internet.

More often then not, it's the other way around. Writing malware code to get around Avira is not for beginners

Good combo, If your using Defence +, then I don't see the point of adding another hips to it (threatfire)

Sure. There is no place for Defense+ and Threatfire at the same time.

Well tech because i dint read your post closely i was surprised to find no web guard in Avira.

A major drawback of Avira free for me.
Also, the update scheme of Avira and the extremely annoying popups is another no-no for the software usability.
