The option is not checked, still after i launch the program from my Desktop, it’ll try to sign me in (and it remembers for my email, only… so why?).
Btw., I got no clue what is the difference between this and the Service option.

Would you please provide which version you used?
Service option means which Unite account will be used to log in in service mode before Windows log in.
'Automatically Sign me' option means log in Unite from user interface in GUI mode.
In service mode, your contacts could not see you online and only from computers logged in with same account could see the computer is on line.
In GUI mode, you are visible to all your contacts and other computers logged in with same account.
