Updated fine to the newer build using IE’s settings (proxy enabled). However, when setting the proxy settings in CVA, upon scanning it would crash and then exit (see attached screenshot). Maybe I’m entering the wrong proxy details but have tried the following:-
x.x.x.x and http:///proxy.js
and /
Running the scan using IE’s settings (as before) still generated the “cannot contact Comodo’s server” error message
Edit: Btw, it did download the latest updates (before scanning) and then crashed :(.
Hi Graham1,
It seems one of class libraries we used is resulting in updater getting crashed! Which was not the case with last updater.
I would provide you an updated updater and then we can check it out the error you are getting.
We have tested with proxy server settings and would be equally happy to make it work
Great!!! Looking forward to getting the update to test. Btw, from the proxy settings I’ve applied in my above post. Which is the correct way to enter the proxy details?
Hi Graham1,
Error 115: Proxy authentication fails. So you need to verify if your proxy really requires authentication and if so, please verify login details.
Error 114: It can’t connect to proxy server!
In case you have seen error 115, it means in that attempt, cva was able to connect to server perhaps.
Our proxy server does require authentication although this is done when the user logs on (rather than entering manually, when starting the browser). If you logon locally, then you will be prompted for a username/password to be able to browse.
Error 114: It can't connect to proxy server!
Does this mean that “Proxy Name” does not expect “http:///proxy.js” but rather IP address:port? What is “Proxy Name” expecting to read?

By using IE’s settings (set in CVA), I was able to update to this version. Running scan, I was also able to download the latest DB but then crashed. So maybe it is better to use IE’s settings (which is "“http:///proxy.js” in IE)
Each product has their own team… & Each team will maintain & develop their products. Comodo has 200+ developers (Only developers) and about 5 new developers are joining each month. 200 developers are broken down into to teams to develop each product.
Just thought I would mention that I’ve now got a new work computer ;D. Unfortunately, it’s running Vista :-[ but on the up side, at least CVA runs now without any problems :-TU. I swear my old 1.6 GHz, 512mb ram laptop runs faster than this Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz, 2gb ram desktop ^_^.
