is there any way to backup firewall custom rules to restore them after fresh install ?

In the CIS window, click More → Manage my configurations. Click on the currently Active configurations, then Export… Enter a file name and Save.

To restore the settings in your new installation, go to Manage My Configurations as before and click Import. Select your previous file and Open. Then select the imported settings and click Activate.

BTW, I wouldn’t try doing this to copy settings to a different major version of CIS (like going from version 4 to 5). I export my settings periodically as a backup only.
