He mentioned Anvisoft is whitelisted by Comodo & others.
There is a lot of speculation and circumstantial evidence there. The founder of Anvisoft may very well be the renowned hacker publisher thinks he is but that does not mean founder may not have changed his ways.
What it in the end boils down to is prove that Anvisoft AV cannot be trusted because it does not bring what it says it brings.
This reminds me a bit of recent false accusations made in US politics about modems of Chinese company Huawei. Huawei offered their source code for review in the process.
Is Anvisoft been whitelisted by Comodo?
I read this very interesting article at KrebsonSecurity
Thought members should know. I personally do not see “Anvisoft” in Trusted Software Vendors list in ver5.12.
Personally I dont see what the issue is, hes not the first and he wont be the last, just take a look at the past lives of the people behind the likes of Emsisoft and OpenDNS…lol, and theres more where they came from to, probably thousands if not more of people who start up or are behind security software and services have been at some time on the other side of things, just take a look at experts in the field of security for homes, businesses and vehicles, good proportion of these people were once burglars and car thieves, thats how they are good at doing there job of helping to prevent your home, business broken into or car stolen, same goes for computer security, if they know how to hack or create malware they will make good experts in prevention ;D
As for Anvisoft I would think it would be an asset having an ex-hacker helping to make it a better product, considering they know the kind of things hackers and maybe even vx’ers etc… do to hack/infect systems, so I would worry less about this ex-hacker and more about the people everyday trying to infect and hack our systems then this one person turn good
Right now they are in the whitelist.
However, Comodo has said they’re keeping an eye on them, just in case.

Well nobody never knows for sure…Some may seem to be good…the credibility issue is glaring here. Honesty of one’s work is and foremost an ingredient of trust. Remember Iobit and Malwarebyte’s…that’s deception there. Even my Chinese pals were mad at that because it’s a stain on them(and that stigma still remains). Anyway, opinions vary and thanks for sharing Thanks

Just wanna confirm if indeed Comodo has it whitelisted. Friends who are (not members here)loyal users of Comodo are asking. Some (have graduated from the freeware usage) have been satisfied bought a couple of licenses. They are the silent admirers in my area(office-manufacturing guys). I think they deserve to know.
Thanks Chiron
I have already reported it and got reply from Bogdan.

Please keep in mind that vendors are added to the trusted vendor list based on what their software does during Comodo’s investigations of whether or not a vendor is a whitelist candidate, not who runs the company…
If Anvisoft’s products stray over into that grey area, they will be removed from the list.
The fact that the CEO of the company may have at one time been a hacker, (I don’t believe there is any actual proof that has been provided, other than some circumstantial evidence…) does not mean that his companies product is malicious or misrepresented in any way.
As AimeeLW pointed out, there are numerous security professionals who started out as black hats.
Thanks for the reply there. This post was in behalf of my friends(as mentioned also). It’s just alarming as “they” seem to be so aggressive in every field especially in hacking information from agencies/offices etc. The Kreb’s news is alarming to newbies and non-forum members(who are really regular office staff just getting a grip on security apps other than AV’s) as they rely on D+ more now. It is nice to know that it also has been reported by SiketaAND that they are being kept in check. Personally I really hope that the kid is seriously hionest in evolving rrom ‘black’ to ‘white’.
Thank you
Just merged these three threads about the same topic.
My bad didn’t saw that one. Deleted my one
