Antispam Gateway release notification 18 Nov 2015 > Update 25 Nov.

Hi All,

We expect to make made the next revision of your beloved Antispam Gateway live on November 17th 18th and would like to give you a preview of what this revision contains:

[ol]- As requested we have new mail rule creation mechanism so that you can forward any email from any sender, intended for any recipient to any mailbox. You’ll find this new ability under the renamed ‘Create Rule’ menu item under Whitelist/Blacklist.

  • We have finally completed the Time Zone alignment initiative so often requested. The administrator can now review all logs, records, reports etc. in the Domain’s local time (you’ll find the setting in the Domain settings menu).
  • Your users now have a new way to advise us that an email that got through is spam. Simply ask your users to forward the email to spam[at]antispamgateway.comodo.com or attach the original spam email in a new email to the same address. This reported email will then be recorded in your Reported Spam report.
  • We have improved your archiving license notifications too. You can now get email alerts when your mail-backup Archive is due to expire
  • We have fixed that annoying ‘Error 500’ you may have occasionally seen when creating a whitelist or blacklist rule[/ol]

***Edit - we are also adding some new extensions into the ‘block’ list. The complete list will now be:-
ade, adp, air, app, as, asf, asp, asx, bas, bat, bin, btm, cab, cer, chm, cil, cmd, com, cpl, crt, csh, dll, dmg, exe, gadget, hlp, hta, html, ht, iim, inf, ins, inx, isp, isu, its, jar, job, js, jse, ksh, lib, lnk, mad, maf, mag, mam, maq, mar, mas, mat, mau, mav, maw, mda, mdb, mde, mdt, mdw, mdz, msc, msh, msh1, msh1xml, msh2xml, mshxml, msi, msp, mst, nexe, nws, ocx, ops, otm, paf, pcd, pif, prf, prg, ps1, ps1xml, ps2, ps2xml, psc1, psc2, pst, reg, rgs, run, scf, scr, script, sct, sh, shb, shs, swf, sys, tmp, u3p, udf, upx, url, vb, vbe, vbs, vbscript, vsm, vsmacros, vss, vst, vsw, vxd, widget, wmd, wmf, wms, wmz, ws, wsc, wsf, wsh, xap, xml.

If you are in the position to do so, we would also recommend adding docm, xlsm & pptm into your list of blocked extentions unless you need macro-enabled documents.

***Second Edit
OK, we were a couple of hours late on the release, sorry guys ‘n’ gals but your new ASG features and functions are now available to you except that we had a small issue with putting the Time Zone settings in your Domain settings page so, for a few more days, only newly created domains will be able to have a local time zone configured for them.

***Update
Existing domains are now able to be aligned with your local time-zone. Pop into the Domain settings section under your Incoming menu and there you will find a Timezone dropdown that you can select your locale from. Enjoy !

These are the highlights, the full release notes will be made available on ‘go-live’ day.

Keep calm and IT on…

M.
