Anti-malware recomendations

I don’t even think it uses two engines, I think it uses one engine with two companies signature files. They used to use two engines but the program used too much memory. So they went with one engine but different signature files.

Exactly. Thank you. And yes Dear Jaki. If 2 av’s together are so much better then G-Data should ■■■■ all the competition away. But it doesn’t. Avira has a score of 99.7 and G-Data scores 99.8. WOW thats a huge difference. NOT.

Nope, sorry Gdata uses two separate and distinct engines; engine A (BitDefender) and engine B (Avast). Also they are not combined. It is fruitless to carry on our exchange that way. Vette you have your preference and I have mine. I’m a firm believer of two AVs and you are not. Let’s leave it that way. Nonetheless, we already had that conversation before on some other thread and we will never settle anything. Time to hit the sack, I have a tough day tomorrow. See Ya.

Please read

http://anti-virus-software-review.toptenreviews.com/antiviruskit-review.html (please read the effectiveness section, the first paragraph where it is stated that Gdata uses two distinct engines, not just signatures as it is claimed)

see Gdata two engines in action from Matt on youtube:

Peace.

I think they stopped using the double engine in the 2010 edition. I remember seeing task managers from the previous versions and they had two engines running, while on the 2010 edition only one is listed. In reality only one engine is needed as long as it can run multiple threads in the processor.

Ummmmmmmmmm. TopTen reviews is a rogue site. WOT gives a warning. You really are naive and inexperienced Jaki. BTW I know Matt’s reviews.

Actually top10reviews isn’t a rogue site, It’s just not worth reading ;D worse then pcmag.

Jaki, This is for you and anyone else who considers 2 engines running at real time.

Lets go back to Nov 2008 AV Comparatives Proactive/Retrospective Test. This test is done by not updating the VDF files for any av for 4 months. Then running a scan without updating and see what happens. Guess what Jaki. Avira with its single engine wins by a long shot.KAV also scored 70% but total number was only 60% and Avira was 67%. G-Data scored 66% with a total of 59%. So once again Jaki are 2 anti virus better then one. NOPE. You got owned once again. Awhile back I was banned from Wilders for posting a link to TopTens Reviews and was told its a rogue site. TopTen reviews is a bs site.

Thanks Kyle. Well maybe now Jaki will read that article is realize she is wrong.

i m sharing video proof of my own system showing running 2 aniviruses together

  1. it does not slow down pc
  2. they dont clash with each other as i have both running and up-to-date.
  3. i will also show that while detection and removal both antivirus dont clash, and some virus which is missed by 1 antivirus in this case its CAV which misses virus in zip file (as in real time scannning CAV doesnt scan archieves) the virus is being caught by rising antivirus 2009 and being cleaned.
Thanks everyone for there views on this topic, its really very interesting topic to talk on, :-T

Some AV’s may run just fine but there is an increased probability of false positives. Some AV’s may detect Av Defs of other progams as positive. This can corrupt one or both Definition files from one or both AV programs. I know this from previous experienceyears back with Norton and Mcafee.

In the case of Gdata they make sure that their defs and engines do not conflict.

No one says (at least me) that it can’t be done. You might even increase your level of protection but you might FU your protection and not know it.

It is just not recomended.

Try these on for size.

Moderator edit : Vett, please remember that you can’t post any links to malware. Thanks
~eXPerience~

Also who in there right mind runs so many programs in the back round. Why on earth are is your system tray so full. No need for that.

What a joke.

His review on YouTube? Is that what your talking about?

Those were not direct links I might add. Read them carefully. We allow them. They are edited links. See the Malwarebytes forum.

Hey Children

While I was sleeping you kept at it pretty well. Nonetheless, thanks for keeping me in mind while I was snoaring ;D. Anyway I’m done talking, it is quite pointless, really. Mes enfants go take a break now and be quiet, please.

Peace. ;D

Cant take the heat…Get out of the kitchen. Watch and learn how a real person cleans a real infected pc. Not some eicar test file.

No I have got to say this. I really think the joke is on you Vette. At least devenroy has contributed to something he went ahead and proved his point, Eicar file test or not. What have you contributed except a lot bla bla bla bla bla. Really tell me what have you contributed in order to call someone else’s test a joke? The joke is on you man.

Peace.

You miss the point of a forum. The point is to have an educational exchange of information, not to confront each other. However if you want to be confrontational, I will be. I will receive you the way you come. You want to be polite, I will be polite to you. You want to be confrontational, then oh boy you do not know what you’re in for.

Peace.
